CIIL Junior Fellowship

Under the scheme of Fellowships and Scholarships, CIIL is encouraging language-related activities by awarding Five (05) Junior Fellowships every year. The Junior Fellowships are intended to enable young scholars to pursue doctoral research in Linguistics, Indian languages and related disciplines. The awardees can pursue their work in a recognized university/research institution of their choice. The Institute encourages original thinking in the conceptualization of the problem and the use of innovative methodology in the conduct of research related to language education. The amount of finance assistance for Junior Fellows is Rs. 20,000 per month and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an interview, which may also include a presentation of the proposal/synopsis. Candidates will be paid up to AC III tier train fare by the shortest route for attending the interview. Junior Fellowship scholars will be required to submit monthly progress reports duly forwarded by their research supervisors/Head of the Department and Research Advisors to CIIL. A Committee of experts will review the progress. Also, a research colloquium will be held at the completion of the second year where the fellows will present the progress of their research. If the progress of the research is found unsatisfactory, CIIL reserves the right to terminate the fellowship at any point in time.
