Scholarship

Under the scheme of Fellowships and Scholarships, CIIL is encouraging language-related promotional activities by awarding Five (05) Scholarships every year. The scholarships are intended to enable young tribal students to pursue Master’s/Integrated Master’s in Linguistics and Language Sciences. The awardees can pursue their course/programme in a recognized university/research institution of their choice. The selection of eligible candidates is based on performance in the scholarship test conducted by the Institute. The scholarship test may take place online or on-site at CIIL, Mysore. All five slots of this Scholarship Scheme are reserved for persons belonging to Scheduled Tribes. The term Scheduled Tribe here refers to persons recognized as Scheduled Tribe by Article 366 (25) of the Constitution of India. The Central Institute of Indian Languages will credit the monthly scholarship to the bank account of the scholar by PFMS/online transfer.  For this, each scholar will be required to submit a ‘certificate of satisfactory performance’  to  CIIL  on a bi-annual basis. The release of the monthly scholarship from the second semester onwards will be subject to the successful completion of the preceding semester and the receipt of the progress report attested by the concerned department. Annual contingency grants to the extent of actual expenditure incurred per annum will be credited to the account of the scholar after the receipt and scrutiny of the bills/vouchers submitted and duly signed by the scholar and countersigned by the Head of the Department.
