Senior Fellowships

Senior Fellowship is an opportunity for those who have completed outstanding research or advanced studies and research in Linguistics and Indian Languages. Selected candidates are expected to contribute to the theoretical and conceptual advancement in the above area and through this generate fieldwork-based empirical data and contribute to policy making. The senior fellowships are intended to enable scholars to pursue research in Linguistics, Indian languages and related disciplines. In addition to the copies of academic qualifications and work experience, an application should be accompanied by a concept paper of about 2500-3000 words on the theme of the proposed research, containing statements about (a) rationale and objectives of the study, (b) conceptual framework, (c) proposed methodology, and (d) potential contribution of the study.

In service as well as superannuated faculty members are eligible to apply. The in service fellows will be entitled to salary and allowances as per their parent organization. However, superannuated and pensioner fellows will be entitled to a consolidated sum of Rs 40,000/- per month. Both in service and pensioner fellows will be entitled to an annual contingency grant of Rs 40000/- only. The maximum duration of the senior fellowship is two years. Applicants will be required to appear for an interview, which may also include presentation of the proposals. Candidates will be paid AC II tier train fare by the shortest route for attending the interview.
